Mabon Spells
Mabon magic belongs to the threshold: equal light and darkness, the fullness of harvest, and the first real turning inward. These simple workings invite balance, gratitude, and preparation for the quieter season ahead.

The Equinox Balance Spell
Purpose: Balance and noticing what needs tending.
Spell: Place two small objects of similar weight on opposite sides of a table—stones, apples, acorns, or anything gathered from your home or garden. Between them, light a candle. Name one part of your life that has received too much of you lately, then one that has received too little. Sit with both without judging either. Move the objects slightly until the arrangement feels balanced to you. Let the candle burn for a few quiet minutes as you consider one small change that might restore some balance.

The Apple Gratitude Spell
Purpose: Gratitude and recognizing what sustains you.
Spell: Choose an apple and hold it for a moment before cutting it crosswise to reveal the star hidden inside. For each point of the star, name something that has sustained you through the year—a person, place, practice, ordinary comfort, or strength of your own. Eat the apple slowly. Return the core and seeds to the earth or compost when you are finished.

The Winter Basket Spell
Purpose: Preparation and choosing what you will carry forward.
Spell: Take a small basket, bowl, or box and choose three things to place inside. The first represents something you want to preserve. The second represents something you want to nourish through the darker months. The third represents something that will bring you comfort. They can be herbs, stones, written words, photographs, seeds, or simple household objects. Keep the basket somewhere visible through autumn as a reminder that preparing for darkness is also an act of care.
